Robots 2019
For six weeks, starting at the beginning of January, 2019, students in the third through fifth grades rotated through stations with the various robots available in Orchard School's library. They were placed in two or three person teams that would stay together throughout the entire robotics experience. During the first week, students were instructed in how the Tickle app may be used for programming most of the robots (Dash/Dot, Ollie, Sphero, BB8 and Cue). Week Two had general directions in the functioning of Blue Bots. During these two weeks, students were tasked with exploring how they could control their robots within a defined space, as well as learning about the various capabilities of their robots. At the end of their coding experience, each student received a 3D printed "Orchard Coder." Students used them on backpacks, as jewelry or as wall hangings. |
